Son still shining after Watford goal

05 February 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son still thinks about his magic moment in the last minute at Watford.

The South Korea star fashioned a backheel finish from Kieran Trippier to grab a 2-1 win at Vicarage Road and send our travelling support into raptures on December 28.

The players headed straight to our fans after the goal - the celebrations (as seen below) something to remember!

“It’s a very good memory,” said ‘Sonny’. “It was a very difficult game and we were all very happy to win. Yes, the goal was a little bit lucky because it went through the legs of Gomes but it doesn’t really matter how we scored, we wanted to win that game, it was very important and to do it like that was special.

“The celebrations were crazy! It was a very good time. Sometimes when I’m going to sleep I’m still thinking about this moment! We have great fans and it was great to make them feel happy. We won for them because they are always there with us.”

What do you think of Watford this time around at the Lane?
“Every game is tough but Watford played well against Chelsea (0-0 this week). They are a good team with a good attack, dangerous and capable of scoring, but we have to win at home.”

Kevin Wimmer started his first Premier League game against Norwich. How do you think he got on?
Sonny: “Kevin is my best friend here. I like him as a player as well. He started at Norwich and did very well. I’m happy for him because we kept a clean sheet and he was very strong.”

Last question - how is it going for yourself?
Sonny: “I can play better, I know that. I can also score, everything can be better. I’m coming on step by step. I feel good now and even if I don’t score, I’ll be giving everything to this team to help us to victory.”
