Son and Harry surprise Korean prodigies on Training Centre visit
20 October 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Our Training Centre played host to a team of 12 young footballers from Hansol Elementary School of Seongnam, Korea, for a day of advanced training offered by our youth Academy coaches on Monday (October 19).
The group, brought to the UK in an effort to support the advancement of Korean youth football by AIA, the pre-eminent life insurance provider in the Asia-Pacific region and our official shirt partner, will be representing Korea in the upcoming Danone Nation’s Cup, the world’s largest Under-12 international football competition, in Morocco.
During the special training session, held at our state-of-the-art training facilities at Hotspur Way, the young footballers received surprise visits by Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, who joined our Academy coaches in sharing their football knowledge and experiences with the players.
A full international since 2010, Son has represented South Korea at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the AFC Asian Cup in 2011 and 2015, helping them finish as runners-up in the latter tournament. Harry currently has three goals in six international appearances for England to his name.
Shortly after the training session, the team had the privilege of watching our first team train at close quarters as we prepare for Thursday’s Europa League clash with Anderlecht.
We wish the team all the best in their upcoming Danone Nation’s Cup campaign.
