Soldado seeks Stamford Bridge success

Fri 07 March 2014, 14:43|Tottenham Hotspur

Roberto Soldado has earmarked this weekend’s clash with Chelsea as a potentially decisive match in a mammoth month of fixtures for us.

March brings an opportunity to gain ground on the current occupants of the top four places in the Premier League with games against the Blues, Arsenal and Liverpool – not to mention a two-legged glamour tie against Portuguese giants Benfica with a place in the last eight of the Europa League at stake.

Striker Roberto, who bagged the winner in last weekend’s victory against Cardiff, is under no illusions about the size of the task at hand as our battle continues on two fronts.

And ahead of Saturday’s visit to Stamford Bridge, the 28-year-old has targeted a positive result to use as a springboard for the remainder of the campaign.

“This is a really big month for us and Chelsea’s the next game,” he said. “Obviously that’s the one that we’ve got to get a good result at to kick on.

“This month is going to be decisive in how our season pans out so if we can win there I think things will be better for the future.”
