Soldado ready to stifle Swansea

Fri 17 January 2014, 17:32|Tottenham Hotspur

Roberto Soldado is keen for us to limit the amount of time Swansea City have on the ball this weekend.

We travel to the Liberty Stadium looking to build on the four wins and a draw we’ve earned in our last five Premier League outings – and seeking to complete a league double over the Swans.

Spanish striker Roberto, whose penalty sealed our 1-0 win against Michael Laudrup’s side at the Lane in August, wants to see us keep the ball more than we did in our previous meeting with Sunday’s opponents, as we seek to further elevate ourselves in the top flight standings.

“We already have an example of a situation where we had to face them here at home and the fact of the matter is that they made it difficult for us,” the 28-year-old said.

“I think it was one of the few occasions where they had more possession of the ball than we did and so we know that that midfield area is something that we have to work on.”

Roberto went on to explain how he believes previous experience of playing certain teams can be used to our advantage as the second half of the season wears on.

“We have already played a number of teams and we know what the needs are, what the strengths and weaknesses are of each team,” added the front man.

“Our main objective is to get those three points even though we know it’s going to be very hard work.”
