Sol playing catch-up
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Sol Campbell insists there is more to come after his long-awaited Premiership return at the weekend. The England international was missing for 10 weeks after dislocating his shoulder and the subsequent minor surgery to repair muscle damage.
He played just 65 minutes for the reserves at Forest last week but that was enough to convince the management that he was ready for first team action.
And what better way to test the shoulder than Leicester City? True to form Foxes bombarded us aerially but Sol stood up to the test against the likes of Trevor Benjamin, Ade Akinbiyi, Matt Elliott and Gerry Taggart.
Back working hard at Spurs Lodge, Sol reflected: "I got a great reception and it was good to be back, that’s the main thing. The first half went well fitness-wise, I got a couple of tackles in here and there and that gave my confidence a boost.
"I’m nowhere as fit as I’d want to be but that will only come with games and more training. I’ve only been training a week, properly anyway, and it will take at least a month to be at my best fitness wise.
"I’m playing catch up and it is like another pre-season really, mixed up with the games. I’ve got to do a little here, a little there, rest and catch up.
"I have to continue working, doing my bits and bobs on my arm and the main thing is the fitness of my whole body, to keep on going and get my strength up. It’s nowhere near as I was at the beginning of the season but hopefully it will come."
