Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Dean Richards made a successful return and it was happy Valley again for John Jackson - despite missing a penalty - as our reserves toppled champions Charlton 2-1 on Monday night.
The big defender had few worries in an hour's shift after six weeks on the sidelines with an Achilles problem and a virus.
Midfielder Jacko was back at the site of his first and only Premiership goal so far - a 30-yard screamer against Charlton in February - and returned to the scoresheet in a victory that was convincing in all but scoreline.
Rob Burch also returned in goal after five weeks out and the only downside was Helder Postiga limping off after taking a kick on the back of the thigh in the first half.
It was one-way traffic throughout with a host of chances going begging.
Stephane Dalmat and Rohan Ricketts both went close before the opener after 14 minutes. Dalmat released Dean Marney down the left flank, his deep cross was controlled by Postiga and Jackson was there to slot home with his right foot from 16 yards.
Postiga trudged off after 21 minutes and was replaced by Jamie O'Hara.
Adrian Deane provided brief respite with the home side's first effort after 24 minutes but play was soon back at the other end with O'Hara dummying Mark Hughes' pass and Yeates grazing the roof of the net from 20 yards.
Jackson was unlucky to see his glancing header from Yeates' cross come back off the inside of the post but it was soon 2-0 as Marney's superb cross along the six-yard line was turned into his own net by Neil McCafferty.
The second half was no less lively. It took just two minutes for Charlton to reduce the arrears as from a quick break, Stacy Long played in Karl Beckford and he struck low across Burch into the far corner.
The game then had a mad 10 minutes. It started with a penalty as O'Hara was hacked down by Adam Gross only for impressive Charlton keeper Sergio Leite to save Jackson's firmly-struck penalty low to his left.
Ricketts and Yeates then combined to release Jackson in the box only for Leite to save one-on-one and then Dalmat and Jackson combined only for Ricketts to head wide from eight yards.
Minutes later and the contoversy of the night. Richards lost possession to Lloyd Sam, Sam broke into the box and appeared tripped by the big man but as everyone waited for a penalty, referee Mr Graham booked Sam for diving - incredibly, his second yellow of the night for the same offence and he was off.
The game finally quietened down in the final quarter but we still managed to blow two more great chances - OJ Mabizela somehow having a header from two yards cleared off the line and Ricketts nodding wide from Phil Ifil's cross.
There was a late scare as Long raced clear in injury time but Burch was out quickly to win a crucial 50-50 - a draw would have been inconceivable.
