Aston Villa U17s 0-0 Spurs

Jimmy Neighbour was delighted with this performance against one of the best sides in the U17 age group.

He takes up the story: "The boys did really well. We had a young team out playing against a strong Villa side who are top of their section by a long way.

"We knew it would be a hard game and knew we wouldn't have a lot of the ball.

"But we defended well as a unit and we could actually have scored a couple of times when we broke away.

"I was delighted with how we played, particularly with the Under-15 boys who came in - Joe Martin and Radwen Ahmed, who came on early.

"It wasn't a particularly good game, they had a few early chances and we lost our centre-half Nathan Peprah after 15 minutes and that put us on the back foot again.

"In midfield, Danny Stevens had a really good game, so did Simon Dawkins and Richard Heller up front.

"Tommy Forecast (pictured above) also had a superb game in goal, made one or two great saves and I'm delighted for him.

"There were lots of plusses with their attitude towards the game and the way they worked around each other was excellent. Credit to them."

Spurs U17S: Forecast, Riley, Wright, Kyriacou, Welch, Peprah (Ahmed, 15), Heller, Lewis, Dawkins, Stevens, Martin.

Ipswich Town U19s 1-1 Spurs

Pat Holland described the first 20 minutes of this draw as 'our best football in ages'.

Some fine possession play saw Andy Barcham (pictured) strike the woodwork in that spell before winning the penalty that Jamie O'Hara converted for 1-0.

However, Ipswich equalised in a more even second half and the points were shared.

Coach Pat reflected: "We passed the ball really, really well in that first 20 minutes, hit the post after about 10 minutes from Andy Barcham and then went ahead, good ball into Andy again, he got across his defender, brought down for a penalty and Jamie O'Hara slotted it.

"Then the game became a little more physical but we tried to keep our football going.

"The second half was more even and both sides looked to create. We got into some good areas but then a ball into the box, an unforced error fell to their player who finished well.

"So it ended 1-1 and we were a little disappointed because I thought we deserved the points."

Spurs U19s: Eyre, Ifil, McKie (Francis, 70), McKenna, Foster (Seanla, 75), Dobson, Maghoma, Barcham, Malcolm, OHara, Daniels. Unused sub: Hodges.
