Our Under-18s completed an impressive week on the road with a 3-1 win at Coventry on Saturday.

Our Under-18s completed an impressive week on the road with a 3-1 win at Coventry on Saturday. The lads toppled reigning Academy champions Leicester City away last weekend, fought out a 1-1 draw in a training ground friendly against French side Lille on Wednesday and recovered from a shaky start and conceding an early goal to take maximum points at Coventry.

Alex Olsen levelled Coventry's sixth-minute penalty on the hour and goals from Takura Mtandari (pictured) and Danny Rose secured another maximum return on their travels.

Rose and Ryan Mason made an impact from the bench as both Mason and goalkeeper David Button impressed on their return from injury.

"We didn't play well in the first 20 minutes and that's a lesson we have to learn from this week's travels, we can't get caught cold," reported coach Alex Inglethorpe. "Once we got into our stride we started to play how we know we can.

"We went behind after six minutes when we lost possession, were left in a one on one situation and Takura Mtandari conceded a penalty.

"We were under pressure in the first 20 minutes but handled it well defensively - David Button played well in goal and it was good to see him back after an unfortunate time with injuries.

"Alex Olsen equalised on the hour when Jon Obika played in Danny Rose and Alex got on the end of his cross, a good finish.

"We put Coventry under pressure, won a few corners and took the lead from one of those corner after 75 minutes, an excellent delivery from David Hutton and Takura met it with a header.

"We scored the third goal with about 10 minutes left. Ryan Mason, who was also back from injury, got to the byline and his cutback was perfectly weight for Danny Rose to sidefoot home.

"We've covered a lot of miles this week with the three away games and this was a positive way to finish it."
