Moussa Sissoko hopes to bring his leadership qualities to White Hart Lane.
A transfer deadline day signing from Newcastle United, the all-action midfielder already has three-and-a-half years’ playing time in English football under his belt following his spell at St James’ Park.
Not only that, the France international was a first team player at Ligue 1 side Toulouse for five-and-a-half years prior to his arrival in the Premier League and, at 27 years of age, he comes in as one of the more experienced members of our exciting young squad.
Having worn the captain’s armband for Newcastle in the closing stages of last season, Moussa believes he can draw on his past endeavours to aid some of his younger team-mates here in north London.
“I have that leadership because at Newcastle I was one of the captains,” he told us. “I’ve come here now and I need to get to know every player first. Then I can try to have a good relationship with them and then step-by-step we will work together.
“I believe I can help them and also they will be able to help me.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment so I’m very happy to be here and I’m looking forward now. The team did well last season, we have a good manager and a good team and that’s why I came here.”
