Simon's National benefit
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
International football is often the curse of the club manager, but in the case of Simon Davies playing for Wales, Glenn viewed his two appearances as welcome and timely run outs.
Simon made his first start of the season against Southampton, scoring a fine goal in the process, and Glenn feels that the starts he made for his country against Armenia and Norway were a useful sharpener for our gifted midfielder.
“Young Simon has been on international duty and got two games under his belt,” reflected Glenn.
“Sometimes international games come at difficult times for clubs. For Simon, individually, it came at a good time because he’s not had that many games at that level.
“He’s come back probably fitter and sharper — and did well.”
A big favourite with the fans, Glenn insists Simon does figure largely in his plans for the campaign.
“I’ve told him that he’s going to play a big part in this season, along with the experience of Gus. They are similar types of players and he’ll learn off Gus.
“He’s got a bright future. He’s a level-headed lad and we’ve just got to nurse him through the next year to 18 months.“He was excellent today, we’re very pleased with him.”
