In the latest in a series of features celebrating a decade of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, we meet Sheila, who struggled with her mobility before attending the extraordinary PHASE project.
The exercise programme offers older people in North London access to regular physical activity to help reduce the onset of mental and physical illness.
Sheila has benefitted hugely from PHASE – vastly improving her movement, reducing aches and pains and making new friends, while forming a strong bond with Foundation instructor Walter.
She said: “Walter is a great guy – he looks after everybody and gives them a lot of his time. The exercises he shows us are fantastic and the friendly atmosphere of the sessions makes me feel at home.”
