Sheff Utd vs Spurs - Mauricio's preview

Mauricio Pochettino pinpointed a strong mentality as the key to tonight’s Capital One Cup semi-final, second leg against Sheffield United.

We travel to Bramall Lane with a 1-0 lead from the first leg at the Lane with the winners through to meet Chelsea in the final at Wembley.

“We know this is a very important game,” he said. “We need to have a strong mentality to go to Sheffield and get the victory.

“We have the possibility to get to the final at Wembley and we all realise this is important for the club, for the supporters and for us as well.

“It’s a different stadium, a different environment, they are very loud in their stadium but it’s a game we need to play and we need to be better than them.”

The weekend’s shock results in the FA Cup at Chelsea and City will also further focus the team on the job in hand to overcome our opponents from League One.

“Every game is difficult and when you play in the cup, the level of the opponent is not important because a lot of (other) things go into the game,” added Mauricio. “As I said, it’s important to realise that we need a strong mentality and to give our best.”
