Seb on City

Sebastien Bassong expects a stark contrast between Wednesday night's eagerly-awaited clash against City and what turned into one of those days against Wolves at the weekend.

The defender hardly had a thing to do against the Molineux side but was left frustrated at the Lane as Mick McCarthy's men scored early and hung onto their 1-0 lead with a determined defensive display.

But while Wolves dropped deeper and deeper and ended with two banks of four players protecting goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann, Sebastien believes City's impressive array of attacking players - the likes of Bellamy, Adebayor, Wright-Phillips and Tevez - will look to come forward.

"Saturday was disappointing for everyone," he reflected. "Wolves came here, scored an early goal and defended really well. It was difficult for us.

"They played with two lines of four behind the ball and just ran and tackled everything. It was one of those games, we couldn't score and it ended up being really frustrating.

"I'm sure City will be a totally different game. Both teams will play and it will be an open game with lots of quality. Perhaps we prefer a game like this but we also have to learn how to play against a team like Wolves."

The Cameroon international is delighted the huge encounter with City - it's a fifth-versus-sixth clash as things stand - comes around so soon.

"We have to bounce back really quickly," he added. "We have to forget the Wolves game and focus on this game quickly. It will be a good game, important for where we are in the table."
