Seb loves the pressure

Sebastien Bassong is relishing the scrap for a place in the top four of the Premier League.

The pressure is mounting every week as we fight it out with the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Villa for a place in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool's win against Everton and City's win against Bolton on Tuesday night means we've slipped from fourth to sixth in a matter of days - but the Reds and Sky Blues are only one point ahead.

It all makes for another vital game against Wolves at Molineux tonight (Wednesday, February 10) and defender Sebastien, back in the starting frame alongside new recruit Younes Kaboul in Ledley King's absence, insists ‘that's how I like it'.

"The pressure is on and that's good," said Sebastien at Spurs Lodge after training on Tuesday. "That's why the Premier League is the best league in the world.

"All the games are important now. If we want to stay in the race, we have to get something out of this game, especially as we drew against Villa at home. We will now try to win away.

"The pressure is always there and you have to perform at your best if you want to win any game and keep winning. That's what we train for. The pressure is good."

Sebastien expects a tough test at Molineux against a Wolves side that took three points at the Lane via a 1-0 win in December.

He partnered Michael Dawson at the back that day and added: "Wolves are a very capable team but we'd all like to take some revenge for the defeat at White Hart Lane.

"We will need to play well. They are fighting for their lives, we're fighting for a place in the top four. It's an important game for both teams."
