Scott ready for 'dangerous' Ukraine
Scott Parker insists England face a 'dangerous' final group match against co-hosts Ukraine in Euro 2012 tonight.
The Three Lions go into the game at the Donbass Arena in Donetsk knowing that a draw will be good enough to progress into the quarter-finals from Group D.
Roy Hodgson’s men are level on points with France and no doubt determined to finish top of the group and therefore avoid a quarter-final meeting against Spain.
Speaking before the tournament to Spurs TV Online, Scott was quick to point to Ukraine’s home advantage and how that support can drive a team on – in a game they also must win to progress.
“It’s a dangerous game and the one thing that stands out is they will have the benefit of home advantage,” said Scott, who has started the first two matches and is expected to line-up again.
“I’m sure it will be hostile and it could be one of the toughest tests in the group.
“Technically they are excellent and we’ll have to put in a good performance to come through it.
"These are the games where you have to block that atmosphere out and try to get a result.”
