Schalke at the Lane

We are pleased to announce that FC Schalke will provide the opposition for a pre-season friendly at White Hart Lane on Saturday August 9, kick off 5.30pm.

The Bundesliga side secured a third place league finish last season, behind champions Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and boast the talents of Holland striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Germany World Cup members Benedikt Howedes and Julian Draxler among their number, as well as Kevin Prince-Boateng who spent two seasons with us after joining from Hertha Berlin in summer 2007.

Jens Keller's side will be preparing for their sixth Champions League campaign in the past nine seasons as they enter the 2014/15 season. Schalke are recognised as one of the biggest sides in German football with only Bayern Munich and FC Nurnberg having won more top-flight league titles and have also tasted European success in the past after lifting the UEFA Cup in 1997.
