Sandro believes our two-legged Europa League victory over AEL Limassol can inspire us on what he hopes will be an extended run in the competition.
Goals from Harry Kane and Paulinho, coupled with a second half penalty converted by Andros Townsend, gave us a 3-0 victory in Thursday night’s Play-Off second leg and saw us triumph 5-1 on aggregate.
Brazilian battler Sandro made his first appearance of the season in central midfield on Thursday and was thrilled to help us get through in such style.
“I feel very good to play again,” said the 25-year-old. “We felt comfortable during the match, we started well and controlled the game.
“I think they only had two or three shots at goal so Hugo had a comfortable day. We have to try and play like this every game.”
With the draw for the Group Stage taking place today (Friday), Sandro reckons we’re capable of making an impact in Europe.
“We have a very good, strong squad,” he added. “We’ll go for it in the Europa League this year. It’s a very good competition.”
