SAME AGAIN, PLEASE!

Martin Jol is after a repeat of last season's opening day success when we kick-off our Premiership campaign at Bolton.

We were handed a trip to the Reebok Stadium on August 19 when the league's provisional fixture list was announced on Thursday morning.

Our excellent run to fifth place and qualification for the UEFA Cup last season kicked-off with an opening day win at Portsmouth.

"Bolton is always a very difficult place to go," said Martin. "But it was exactly the same against Portsmouth last season and we went there and deserved to win.

"Our away record against Bolton hasn't been that good but all away games in the Premiership are tough and if we go there and do well it will give us a lot of confidence.

"Of course we would have liked to have been at home but you have to play all these games at some stage anyway."

After Bolton we play host to newly-promoted Sheffield United on August 22 and then Everton at the Lane on August 26 - fixtures subject to change.

Martin added: "It will be a big challenge for Sheffield United but they represent a new challenge for us as well.

"I'm sure they will show a lot of ambition, grit and a good mentality - not least if they beat Liverpool in their opening fixture. As I always say - every game is tough in this league."
