Saints 2-3 Spurs - Ade's delight
23 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Emmanuel Adebayor feels we’re 'back on track' after Sunday's victory at Southampton.
The striker played a key role in the 3-2 win in the Premier League at St Mary’s.
Ade started and finished the equaliser in the first half, launching himself to volley home Roberto Soldado’s cross to level after Adam Lallana opened the scoring.
Jos Hooiveld deflected Danny Rose’s cross into his own goal for 2-1 at the start of the second half only for Rickie Lambert to make it 2-2 minutes later.
As we started to create chances, Ade was there again to strike home the winner from close range in the 64th minute.
“Southampton play good football, they have good players and we knew it was going to be tough,” said the Togo international.
“We got through a difficult moment (in the first half) and played well.
“Tim (Sherwood) told us before the game to get out and play our football, to enjoy it and I think we did that well.
"We spoke to each other on the pitch, told each other to keep hold of the ball and because we have players who can keep the ball we’ve done a great job, everyone is pleased about the performance.
“I’m happy for the lads, happy for the fans. To win this game is very good for us. We’re back on track.”
