Saha's joy at French recall
Louis Saha said he never gave up hope of being recalled back into the French international fold.
After a fantastic start to his Spurs career – three goals in three starts, a double on his debut – the striker, now 33, is in line for his 20th cap in Wednesday’s high-profile friendly against Germany.
Louis has been re-called by manager Laurent Blanc in the absence of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema and Marseille’s Loic Remy.
Snapped up on transfer deadline day in January, Louis fired two goals inside 20 minutes of his home debut against Newcastle on February 11.
He has been out of the French team since November, 2006, but for an 11-minute substitute appearance against Belarus in September, 2010. He also missed out on the 2010 World Cup Finals.
“It’s a huge game against Germany and I’m looking forward to it,” said Louis.
“It’s always a joy to be called up for France and I love it, so I will try to enjoy it as much as possible.
“In life, sometimes you don’t get what you want but if you still believe, still work hard, still do your thing, you are always hopeful."
