Martin Jol made four changes to the line-up - Mido and Jermain Defoe back together up front with Tom Huddlestone and Edgar Davids both starting in midfield. Robbie Keane and Dimitar Berbatov were on the bench alongside Steed Malbranque, who was part of the 16 for the first time in the Premiership.


6mins: GOAL DISALLOWED - ROVERS. Bentley and McCarthy combined to set-up Nonda but offside flag up before he stroked home.

9mins: Dawson only inches away from Assou-Ekotto's inswinging corner.

10mins: CLOSE. Step over from Mido allowed Ghaly's pass to go to Defoe, he laid back for Davids to fizz just wide from 25 yards.

13mins: Ooijer missed his header allowing Mido to try his luck from distance, sliced effort well wide.

23mins: GOAL - ROVERS. Ball cleared to Tugay who smashed home a volley from 30 yards.

62mins: PENALTY/RED CARD/GOAL. Lee pinpoint pass picked out Ghaly's run into box, Ghaly cleverly flicked ball over Tugay who slid in and caught him with his trailing foot. Penalty awarded, Tugay sent off. Defoe kept his cool and slotted penalty firmly past Friedel, who dived the right way.
