Rosy for young pair
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Anthony Gardner said he and Gary Doherty thrived on the challenge of shutting out Michael Owen and Emile Heskey on Saturday.
The Liverpool strikeforce - the pair that memorably cut Germany to pieces in England's famous 5-1 win in 2001 - barely had a sniff against the young central defenders who have impressed so much of late.
Gary has particularly caught the eye since stepping in for injured Dean Richards against Palace. They have played together in three of our four straight wins since the turn of the year.
"Doc's been outstanding since he came into the side and I've enjoyed playing alongside him," said Anthony. "We've a good understanding and we're friends off the pitch as well, so it's ideal.
"We were already aware of what Emile and Michael are capable of before the game and it's a matter of keeping each other on our toes so we can deal with most things as they come along.
"Emile works hard, makes it hard for you and Michael will always cause you problems with his pace. As a pair they have all the qualities.
"It was a big test but tests like this come along every week in the Premiership and it's enjoyable playing against the best strikers in the league. You have to thrive on that challenge."
