Rose on Champions League draw: 'We can't wait!'
25 August 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Like Spurs fans across the land, Danny Rose will be glued to his TV set at 5pm today (Thursday, August 25) for the UEFA Champions League group stage draw.
The long-serving left-back was on loan at Bristol City last time we were involved in the competition in 2010-11 and as such is eager to get a taste of the action at European football’s top table for the first time.
With our home games set to be played out at the iconic 90,000-seater Wembley Stadium, Danny believes there’s plenty to look forward to ahead of our latest continental adventure.
Asked about his feelings in the build-up to this afternoon’s draw, the 26-year-old said: “Everyone is excited and we’re hoping for a nice group.
“We can’t wait for the first game and we all hope we’re at home for the first game at Wembley because it will be amazing. To think we’ll be playing Champions League football at Wembley with that massive pitch in such a brilliant stadium – it will be amazing and I can’t wait to see the Spurs fans fill out that stadium.
“I’ve never played Champions League football, I asked Jan Vertonghen about it and he said it was brilliant and that there aren’t many better feelings in football so we’re all looking forward to it.”
