Robinson's a Spur
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Goalkeeper Paul Robinson has finalised his move to Spurs after the completion of a medical this morning.
Robinson, rated by many observers to be one of the finest young English goalkeepers in the game, has signed a contract that begins on Monday.
The Beverley-born player made 119 appearances for Leeds, having made his debut against Chelsea back in 1998 - in which he kept a clean sheet. He went on to play six further games that campaign as debuty to Nigel Martyn before really making his mark in season 2000-01 when he featured 24 times, helping Leeds progress in the Champions League - starting games against Besiktas, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Lazio (twice).
The Leeds Academy product finally displaced Martyn and was installed as No.1 keeper by Terry Venables at the beginning of season 2002-03 and it wasn't long before he caught the attention of England coach Sven Goran Eriksson.
He made his senior international debut against Australia in February of 2003 as a second half substitute at Upton Park and also played the second period in the end of season friendly win over South Africa in Durban.
Further international honours followed this season with appearances in the friendlies with Croatia and Denmark. He also, in September, joined the select band of goalkeepers to have scored a goal when he netted a last minute leveller for Leeds in the Carling Cup second round clash against Swindon at Elland Road.
