Roberts returns

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Former Spur Graham Roberts has returned to football management, taking charge at Boreham Wood with a promise to take the Meadow Park club back to the Ryman League Premier Division.

Roberts, who won six full England caps in the mid-80's, replaces Gary Phillips in the hot seat and admits that the Boreham Wood job came totally out of the blue for him.

He said: "I just got a phone call one day after work from the chairman, Danny Hunter. He was just sounding me out really. But when you start speaking to Danny, it only takes about five minutes to agree terms with him! He's got the love of the club and he's very ambitious.

"It's a fantastic set-up for a non-League player. I've done it all my life. It is nothing new for me."

Without making any rash predictions, Roberts is confident that he can bring the good times back to the club.

"I've been out of football at the top levels of the Ryman League for 14 months. I wanted a break and I've had it. I only got involved at Hertford in the Third Division to help my friend out, but things weren't right there.

"I have been looking for a good challenge for quite a while. There is great potential at Boreham Wood and I'm going to give it my best shot."
