Roberto Soldado recognised the key contributions of Michael Dawson to Sunday’s win against Cardiff.
While Roberto got the goal that ultimately decided the game, club captain Daws was the personification of an air traffic control tower at the other end – taking charge of every inbound aerial ball and winning header after header to keep the Bluebirds at bay.
And the heroics of our long-serving defender were not lost on Roberto after the game.
“Daws was fundamental in the back four,” he said.
“We defended as a team magnificently and everything they threw at us we managed to bat off.
“The team played very, very well against a hard side.”
