Roberto Soldado wants to give our supporters the ideal Christmas present by coming back from Leicester City with three points in the bag on Boxing Day.
We take on the Foxes in buoyant mood after our recent winning run and in the knowledge that the omens are good for a victory – a trip to Portsmouth’s Fratton Park in 2003 being the last time we lost on Boxing Day.
While the Spanish front man is taking nothing for granted as we take on Nigel Pearson’s side, he’d love nothing more than to give something back to our fans in the form of victory at the King Power Stadium.
“We have some big games coming up – Leicester is a very important match for us, which we need to win away from home,” he said.
“It’s very important for our fans to enjoy their Christmas and there is nothing better than watching their team. The supporters can stay with their families and watch football, which is perfect for them!
“We know that, on the pitch, three points will be very important for us ahead of Manchester United and then Chelsea at home.
“We’re close to United in the table and a win at Leicester will be good for our confidence.
“For the moment, we are only thinking about trying to win our game on Boxing Day and then we’ll look at United and Chelsea.”
