Roberto Soldado has warned of the dangers Everton pose on the counter-attack as we prepare to face the Toffees at White Hart Lane.
Roberto Martinez’s men failed to score against us last season as a goalless draw at Goodison Park was followed up with a 1-0 home victory later in the campaign – Emmanuel Adebayor on target.
Both sides tasted victory in the Europa League on Thursday and as such will be confident heading into Sunday’s 4pm kick-off in the Premier League.
And while mindful of our visitors’ threats, Roberto believes we’re in good shape to take all three points.
“It’s always difficult playing against Everton and that hasn’t changed very much recently, so I’m expecting it to be difficult again on Sunday,” said the Spanish forward.
“We have to really watch out for their counter-attack as they’re very dangerous on that – as they showed on Thursday in Europe.
“We have to create problems for them and try to stop them coming at us. It’s going to be very important for us to remain calm and to read the game intelligently.”
