Robbo running again

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Paul Robinson underwent his first running session since suffering knee ligament damage during training in Seong Nam this morning.

The England No.1 sustained the injury towards the end of last season in the home game against Aston Villa and was forced to sit out the final two games against Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers.

After being able to remove his knee brace, Paul has been on a rehabilitation programme in the gym, but now feels he is beginning to enter the home straight in terms of his recovery.

"I'm back in the running and about time!" said the goalkeeper. "I have been a bit frustrated over the summer with not being able to anything, I have been in the gym, but this is my first run outside. It felt really good, although my quads felt a little bit tight as I have not done anything for a long time.

"Touch wood, my knee feels great so far and I've had no reaction. I'll build it up from here. This is the first rung back to getting properly fit and it is like the light at the end of the tunnel.

"I wasn't due to start running until the end of the Korea trip so I am ten days ahead of schedule, hopefully."

However, Paul did admit that his earlier target of being back in full training two weeks ahead of the new season could have been a case of wishful thinking.

"It was me being a bit optimistic as I want to play in the first game of the season, although that is still my aim. If I don't make the first game I want to be fit for the rest of the season."
