Robbo ready to roll

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Paul Robinson began training at Spurs Lodge this week and admitted that it feels like he has already been here a while.

The goalkeeping recruit from Leeds was originally set to sign on in January and the terms of the transfer were put in place. It finally went ahead before the end of last season in May and the England international is now looking forward to some part of a game against either Hull or Sheffield United this weekend.

"With it nearly happening in the January transfer window and finally getting the move completed - it seems like I've been here a while now," reflected the 24-year-old, who said the decision to come to Spurs did not take much thinking about.

"No, definitely not. The chairman sold the club to me in January and what a great club it is with great potential. With the new manager hopefully we can go on to bigger and better things."

Paul is already settled in a new house and insists he is giving his Spurs career his undivided attention.

"When we got knocked out of the championships, myself and my wife luckily found a place and we moved in this week. We have uprooted and are not keeping a house back home because if things are to be right on the pitch for me, they have to be right on the pitch.

"We are moving down properly and this is my new home - I'm really going to give it my best shot. There is nothing else you can do, from my point of view, your heart has got to be in it completely."

It will be a return to his old patch for the Beverley-born keeper should he take to the field against Peter Taylor's Hull in their centenary match - a team he was on the books of as a schoolboy.

"It is where I first started off as a schoolboy when I was ten or eleven. All my family live in the area and it would be nice to play my first game there.

"It is a massive game for them, they have done really well getting promotion, with a great manager and a great chairman in Alan Pearson. They are looking in the right direction as well."
