Robbie: We must move on

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Robbie Keane insists the team must quickly draw a line under the disappointment of the penalty defeat to Liverpool and get on with the business of accumulating Premiership points against Blackburn this evening.

Spurs Lodge was naturally not a happy place on Thursday as everyone attempted to come to terms with a Carling Cup exit in the cruelest possible way. Robbie knows that a good reaction to the setback is vital as last season, after elimination to Middlesbrough on penalties at the same stage, it took three games to get back on the winning trail.

"It is never nice when you get beaten, especially in manner we did," said the striker. "Losing on penalties is never nice, but it does happen in football and now, as players, we have to get on with it.

"The good thing about football is there is always another game in a few days to put things right and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.

"I thought we should have won the game but it is gone now. It is up to us to move on and make sure we put it right with three points against Blackburn. It is going to be a tough game, they got a good result against Fulham last week, but the lads must stand up and be counted now - and I'm sure we can do it."

A basis for Premiership optimism was secured last weekend with the impressive win over Middlesbrough at the Lane and Robbie says this platform must be built on.

"Exactly, it was very important and we obviously needed that. We weren't on the best of runs and I'm sure it will give us confidence in the league. If we keep our heads up and keep working as we can do, I don't see any reason why we can't get something out of the game."

For Robbie, the trip to Ewood Park is a return to the scene of his first Spurs goal, a venue that holds happy memories for him.

"Yes it does, I like going to Blackburn, it is always good to go up there and a nice stadium. It will be nice now, if selected on Saturday, to get a couple there and - most importantly - to win."
