Robbie on Leeds return
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Robbie Keane sincerely hopes that his former club Leeds United overcome their well-documented difficulties and continue to prosper in the Premiership.
The brilliant striker returns to Elland Road on Saturday for the first time since his August switch to the Lane with nothing but positive thoughts about the club he left behind.
Of course, the season has not lived up to expectations for the Yorkshire side and, as well as the departure of a number of players, a different manager and chairman are now in place from when Robbie left.
"Obviously there has been a few ups and downs - probably more downs than ups - at the club in the last six months or so," reflected Robbie, scorer of 19 goals during his spell there.
Leeds appeared to be a side on the brink of a relegation dogfight prior to Saturday, where they brushed aside many fears with a thumping 6-1 victory at Charlton.
"I really genuinely hope that the club succeeds, they got a great result against Charlton and there is no doubt in my mind that they will not get relegated.
"They have too good a squad - you see the team they had out on Saturday, it was a great side.
"It'll be a tough game for us and it will be nice to go back to see all the lads and all the people connected with the club. I've got a lot of friends and was very friendly with a lot of people up there.
"Although it will be nice to go back, hopefully we'll be leaving there with a good result."
Robbie did concede that it was somewhat typical for Leeds to get back in the swing and Mark Viduka get a hat-trick in the game before we head to Elland Road.
"Exactly, and Harry Kewell came back and scored two. They look back on track and I'm really pleased, but on Saturday I hope they are knocked back a few pegs.
"After that I hope they do well because they are a good club and I have a lot of respect for Peter Reid. I genuinely hope that he does really well with them."
