Robbie on hard-fought point
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Robbie Keane reasons that the team set their stall out to good effect against Chelsea on Sunday.
A hard-fought point was won at Stamford Bridge, a venue where not much reward has been secured in recent seasons and Robbie admitted that it was tough going at times.
"It was hard work," considered the striker. "The thing is, with the players Chelsea have, if things don't come off for them they can bring other players on who might do an even better job.
"We knew it would be a tough game, we set our stall out with Jermain playing up front with me just behind him. I thought it worked for us and obviously the team defended very well.
"Overall we're very happy."
Robbie insists that he welcomes the responsibility that comes with tackling a different role in the side that benefits the team.
"Of course, the manager asked me to do a job for the team and I knew it would not be easy on Sunday. It is usually two of us up front, but I had to drop off and, if you like, pick up Makelele.
"It was quite hard, but I enjoyed and it was nice to get the reward at the end. Even though we set our stall out, I don't think we played badly and it worked out for us.
"You can't really go there and play free-flowing football because, with the players they have, they are capable of winning 3-0 or something. There will be a lot of teams who will set their stall out there.
"It worked for us and our manager's tactics were spot on. Don't forget we had a couple of chances ourselves - one being mine with the header where the keeper pulled off a fantastic save.
"It would have been nice to have scored, it was a great ball by Digger and I did what I had to do, but the keeper saved. That's the way it goes."
