Robbie: Bright future ahead

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Robbie Keane feels the new manager will have a good crop of players to work with when appointed.

It certainly was a topsy-turvy season, but a major positive to emerge was the experience banked by many young players and several Academy products were blooded in the Premiership.

More seasoned youngsters such as Simon Davies, Anthony Gardner, Ledley King and Gary Doherty got more games under their belts, while the season also saw the introduction of Rohan Ricketts, OJ Mabizela and Jermain Defoe.

Added to this, Johnnie Jackson, Dean Marney, Stephen Kelly and Mark Yeates also rolled off the Academy production line to bolster the squad for the forthcoming campaign. Robert Burch and Lee Barnard also featured in first team squads, while Jamie Slabber was furthering his game on loan in Denmark.

"If you look around the squad and see the young talented players that we have got we shouldn't have struggled," reasoned Robbie. "The new manager will get a good set of players and a good set of lads too.

"Whoever does take over is in for a good job."

Meanwhile, Robbie added that he feels the situation regarding the managers' position did not unduly affect the players.

"You are aware of everything, but your job as players is to play football and try and blank everything else out your minds.

"There was always going to be speculation about the manager, but we knew from months ago that David was going to be in charge for the rest of the season and there was no reason to think otherwise."
