Right result for Deano
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Dean Richards agreed that it was a 'fantastic win' against Leeds and insists that, at this stage of the season, results are all-important.
Deano more than had his hands full coping with the multi-talented Leeds attack and, despite losing out a couple of times to Mark Viduka, more than held his own after returning to the side following a hamstring injury.
The strapping centre-half and the back line resisted a second-half onslaught from the Yorkshiremen to secure the fantastic outcome for the boys and a real confidence booster going into the final stage of the season.
"It was," smiled Deano. "We've got to the stage of the season now where the results are the main part. It's not pretty to watch sometimes, but it's been effective in the last few games - it's working for us so we have to maintain it.
"After the disappointment of the FA Cup, Worthington Cup and everything it's just important to get back to basics and being difficult to beat. That's what we've been working on in training and showing in the games."
Dean said the second half called for collective character after Viduka halved the deficit early on.
"It did, we've conceded quite a few goals, especially when we've been winning games. I sure a few thought today, 'here we go again', but we showed great character and got the three points."
And that man Viduka certainly provided Dean with a big test on his return to the side after injury and he admits he was blowing a bit towards the end.
"He's a good player," said Dean of the Australian. "He backs into you, he's strong and you can't get round him because he's so wide.
"He's got great feet as well. For the goal he took it so well and so early - I expected him to have another touch, but he had a great finish.
"The hamstring was alright, the chest was the main problem today. I've been out for a couple of weeks and only trained for a couple of days. That was the main thing and I'm just pleased to have got through 90 minutes really."
