Rewind: Dele's wonder goal at Palace, one year on...

Mon 23 January 2017, 11:00|Tottenham Hotspur

It's a year since Dele Alli struck his wonder goal at Palace - January 23, 2016.

The control, flick over Mile Jedinak and volley home won BBC Match of the Day's Goal of the Season for 2015-16.

It's only the second time in the prestigious award's history going back to 1970-71 that a Spurs player has won it - and that was Gazza's free-kick against Arsenal in 1991.

Gary Mabbutt had to duck out of the way of Gazza's free-kick and had a wonderful description of Dele's goal. “The way he took it, every part of the movement was completely under control, nothing out of sync, everything seemed perfect," said the legendary former skipper.

Dele went on to score 10 goals in the Premier League last term but he's eclipsed that already in a magnificent season so far. Indeed, he's up to 11 in 21 appearances so far after scoring eight in his last season - including the first goal in our 2-2 draw at City on Saturday.
