Return of the Saint
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Dean Richards is relishing the prospect of a return to Southampton on Boxing Day.
The big defender joined us after a long, drawn-out transfer affair from the Saints in September.
He now returns to the new St Marys Stadium with feelings no doubt still running high from home fans after his and Glenn Hoddle's departures to the Lane.
Was is going to be a tough one for him? "I'm actually looking forward to it," he countered. "It will be nice to go back and see the lads, see all the staff.
"I had two good years there, enjoyed it and it will be nice to see everyone again.
"I'm expecting a hot reception to be honest. Supporters are very loyal and they don't understand why players might want to move on and players leave.
"I'm expecting a little stick and if it's any different then I'll be pleased with that."
'Deano' maintains it was the right move and that it was for footballing reasons alone that he headed for the Lane.
"It was the right move and that was the key," he insisted. "It was the right team to come to at this stage of my career.
"If I thought any differently I would have been more than happy to stay at Southampton.
"That wasn't the case and I moved to Spurs purely for footballing reasons. The league table doesn't lie and shows the decision was the right one."
The Saints were beaten 6-1 by a resurgent Manchester United on Saturday but have won three of their last five Premiership games and now look for a third-successive home win after waiting until late November for the first.
Dean added: "They've struggled a little but they are picking up now. They've had a few good results.
"They've got more than enough there to stay up, always have. They've a great spirit and they all work hard for each other. When they need to get results they tend to get them."
