Reto wins first cap

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Reto Ziegler won his first full cap on Saturday night as Switzerland secured a goalless draw against France in Saint-Denis.

In front of a crowd of 79,373 at the Stade de France, Reto featured for 69 minutes before being replaced by Magnin. For France it was a third home draw in the qualifying campaign, a result which leaves them level on nine points with Ireland and Israel after five matches in Group Four.

Swiss coach Kobi Kuhn was understandably happy with the draw against the former world champions which leaves them with six points from four matches.

"This is a good result for our part," Kuhn said. "It's particularly important for our young players. I'm proud of them."On Wednesday, Switzerland welcome Cyprus to Zurich for their next match while France travel to play Israel in Tel Aviv."

Elsewhere in the group, Clinton Morrison's fourth-minute opener for the Republic of Ireland against Israel separated the sides until just two seconds into injury time when substitute Abas Suan drilled home the equaliser.

Robbie Keane played the full 90 minutes, while Andy Reid was an unused substitute.

The Republic remain unbeaten, with three draws from all their matches on the road, they have still to face Group Four rivals France, Switzerland and Israel at Lansdowne Road.

Meanwhile, Philip Ifil started for the England under-19s in their 1-0 win over Denmark in the UEFA European Championship 2nd qualifying round at Gresty Road on Saturday. Our under-16 goalkeeper David Button played for England under-17s in the 3-1 win over Serbia and Montenegro in a European Championship qualifier at Stoke City.
