80-90: Sergei found his range with a number of neat flicks and links with Iversen and Spurs appeared to be growing in confidence after gaining the lead for the second time. The game petered out slightly as many fans decided to try and beat the heavy traffic going out that delayed the kick-off coming in.
70-80: Glenn brings on Sergei Rebrov and Tim Sherwood for Sheringham and Anderton on 74 minutes and the sun brightened and the game built up in intensity. Two minutes later Spurs are back into lead. GOAL: 2-1 on 76 minutes. Carr burst down the right and floated over a superb hanging cross for Steffen Iversen to nod in at the far post. Attendance: 8, 018.
60-70: Right on the hour mark, Wycombe equalise. Darren Currie found himself in the clear confronted by Sullivan who blocked his effort. The rebound fell kindly to Senda, who pushed the ball into an empty net. Spurs reponded with Poyet crashing a shot in that beat Osborn but hit the bar. Gus then forced a point-blank save from Osborn as the game finally burst into life.
Glenn introduces Christian Ziege into the action for his debut in place of Taricco, while Steffen Iversen replaces Ferdinand in attack. Wycombe put Spurs on the back foot and force Carr into some smart defending.
45-55: GOAL - 1-0 to Spurs on 54 minutes. Ferdinand burst down the right hand channel by feeding the ball to Teddy to sweep home beyond the advancing Osborn.
Taricco and Carr were becoming much more involved in the game to good effect, Taricco in particular showing some nice touches.
35-45: The cultured play of Bunjevcevic often drew applause from the Spurs travelling contingent as his composed style and forward running caught the attention. Ferdinand required attention after a challenge, but was up and running shorty after.
25-35: Les and Teddy were forging a fairly useful understanding up front, a few neat interchanges not quite coming off for the one-time England partnership. Steve Brown had an effort for the homeside, but struck straight at Sullivan from distance. Anderton looking fit and purposeful in midfield, dictating the play in the middle of the park with Poyet.
15-25: A fairly uneventful period of the match which bought only two real opportunities, one for each side, until Spurs burst into life on 24 minutes. Teddy accepted the opportunity of another long-range free-kick and forced another spectacular save from Osborn, tipping over to his right. From the resulting corner Teddy's headed effort was cleared off the line. Taricco then spurned a good headed opportunity from Carr's cross.
Earlier, Wycombe's Dannie Bulman headed straight a Sullivan after a strong run from Dave Carroll down the right, while Darren Anderton shot high and handsome after a neat move involving Les Ferdinand and Teddy.
10-15: Wycombe began to edge into the game, and Chris Perry had to be alert to deny Senda. Goran Bunjevcevic attempted a mazy dribble upfield, but failed release the ball to a team mate.
5-10: With Darren Anderton, Poyet and Stephen Clemence dominating midfield proceedings, Spurs began to make greater in-roads into home territory, but without providing the incisive final ball. Wycombe broke for the first time when Chris Marsh freed Danny Senda, but the shot straight at Neil Sullivan.
0-5minutes: A tentative start by both sides, but with Spurs enjoying nearly all of the possession. The first shot on goal of the day was attempted by Gus Poyet with a long-range effort that drifted wide. A free-kick from well outside the area by Teddy Sheringham forced young goalkeeper Mark Osborn to tip over at full stretch.
