Reserves report:<br> Spurs 1-1 Palace
FA Premier Reserve League South
Simon Davies completed 65 minutes as our reserves drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Stevenage on Monday night.
The midfielder had a couple of half-chances to put his name on the scoresheet but most importantly came through the test unscathed.
Reto Ziegler made his first appearance for the club and was joined by fellow debutant Spase Dilevski, who came on for Davies.
Lee Barnard's fine finish put us 1-0 up at the break after we'd kept an experienced Palace outfit - including the likes of Sean Derry, Michael Hughes and Neil Shipperley - at long range for most of the game.
However, the visitors caught us on the break midway through the second half and despite our territorial advantage, came closest to grabbing the points when Tommy Black's effort deflected inches wide off Stephen Kelly.
That would have been more than a little harsh on the lads after they dictated play for the first hour and left Palace feeding off scraps.
The lively Phil Ifil, Johnnie Jackson, Rohan Ricketts and Davies all tried their luck before Barnard broke the deadlock just before half-time.
Ricketts laid the ball into the striker who turned away from his marker, steadied himself and fired into the far corner from 16 yards.
The strength of Palace's side was underlined by the arrival of Black and Dougie Freedman off the bench at half-time and, following another couple of efforts from Davies, the Eagles started to get more into the game.
Ivan Kaviedes went close before they levelled with a very similar strike to ours on 65 minutes. It started from our possession deep in Palace's half, Watson broke down the right, Kaviedes clipped the ball into Freedman who half-volleyed across Rob Burch from almost the same position that Barnard opened the scoring.
Gabor Kiraly made a two saves in a minute and Ziegler flashed a drive just wide but Palace could have nicked it when Black's side-foot looked goalbound until it flicked off Kelly's heel and inches wide.
