Reserves report: <br>Spurs 2-0 Ipswich
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Jamie Slabber was back on the scoresheet as our reserves made it seven wins in eight games against Ipswich Town on Monday night.
Only just back from a dislocated shoulder he suffered in pre-season, 'Slabs' sniffed out a poacher's goal to put us in the driving seat midway through the first half of this FA Premier League South clash at Stevenage Borough.
It was Slabber's first goal since January and just the boost he needed in only his second start after three months out.
Eddie Silva Sousa was on target again for his fifth goal in seven games as we controlled the first half.
Silva Sousa's lovely strike arrived after just two minutes. Johnnie Jackson attacked a hanging cross from Yeates, the ball was only half-cleared and fell to Silva Sousa who half-volleyed into top corner from 16 yards.
Andy Barcham's industy down the right flank caught the eye in that first half and he helped set up the second for Slabber. Mauricio Taricco played Barcham in between full-back and centre-back, he drove the ball across goal and Slabber slid into to covert for 2-0 after 27 minutes.
Ipswich struggled to carve out a chance in the first half but enjoyed their best spells of possession either side of the interval as the lads slipped slightly into cruise control.
Rodrigo Defendi, excellent on the night, glanced Jackson's free-kick just wide after 53 minutes before Nicky Eyre was seriously tested for the first and only time as Pablo Counago found space in the box and flashed in a shot that the keeper palmed away at full stretch.
We struggled to find the same tempo as the first half with Mark Yeates looking our biggest threat down the left and he was involved in our last effort of note, cutting inside before laying the ball square for Barcham whose shot was well saved by Shane Supple.
