Noe Pamarot completed 90 minutes as our reserves somehow lost against Leicester City on Tuesday night.

The French defender comfortably came through his first competitive action since a cruciate ligament injury in April.

In truth, he had little to do defensively as Clive Allen's men dominated possession for most of the game at Stevenage Borough.

Indeed, the first half was as one-sided a game as you could get with efforts on goal into double-figures, but the breakthough just wouldn't come.

The same sparkle wasn't there in the second half and the visitors were presented with an unlikely winner after 74 minutes when substitute Adam Wykes, who only entered the fray two minutes earlier, slotted home from 10 yards with his first touch after we failed to clear Elvis Hammond's cross.

Leicester keeper Conrad Logan produced his best work in the early and latter stages of the match and Lee Barnard will still be wondering how he kept out his point-blank header in the second minute. Sean Davis was also denied in similar circumstances a minute from time.

Barnard was denied again by Logan two minutes later but although we knocked and knocked, City's defensive wall wasn't breached.

With Andy Reid in a free role and pulling most of the offensive strings, Barnard (twice), Sean Davis, Charlie Daniels (twice), Kieran McKenna and Reid twice himself all tried their luck. City offered one Max Gradel effort at the other end.

The same heights weren't scaled in the second half but we remained on top with Andy Barcham and Stephen Kelly connecting with crosses.

Naturally, City were growing with confidence as the minutes ticked away and cashed in on our only mistake when Hammond crossed low from the right, a combination of Kelly and Pamarot failed to clear and Wykes side-footed home.

Reid almost replied immediately but lobbed onto the roof of the net and Davis had three attempts in as many minutes.
