Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Colin Calderwood revealed that, such was the energy and enthusiasm displayed by Gus Poyet against West Ham, he forgot that he had not played a game since pre-season.

With both Gus and Christian Ziege stepping back into action after their respective lay-offs, reserve boss Colin was always going to be watchful of the duo at Stevenage on Monday evening. He admitted that he was keeping more of an eye on Christian who, it was originally thought, would only feature for half a game.

"With Christian it was really up to him how long he played depending on how good he felt," considered Colin.

"You could see he was definitely tiring - but he wouldn't admit it. So we had to drag him off.

"Gus is Gus, he's there and I totally forgot about it being his first game for a long time and let him carry on. He used his experience well and is a good character to have around with the young ones."

The 2-1 victory over the Hammers provided a welcome first win of the season for the second-string following three draws and two defeats in the opening five fixtures. The team recovered from falling behind against the tide in the first half to a stunning Richard Garcia strike. Gus Poyet and Stephane Dalmat scored the second half goals to secure victory.

"We had a good side - a strong side with experience - while West Ham were a little bit like we were last week," added Colin. "Although we were one down at half-time the way they went about it was fairly good.

"We just tried to get them a little bit more agressive and a little bit more positive when they were in and around the box - to stick a cross in or to run at them and commit somebody.

"At the end of the day, if you are continually in possession of the ball the other team must get tired at some point and it ended up with our experienced players winning us the game. Gus and Stephane with their input towards the goals ended up being the difference.

"The goal from them was obviously a kick in the teeth, but we didn't really switch on quickly enough from a throw-in against and, as tends to happen from a little bit of sloppiness, you can get punished. The lad ended up hitting a wonderful shot that we could nothing about once he hit it.

"The boys were positive at half-time that, at some point, we would get the chance to get a goal and I think we deserved to. Our movement and the way we moved the ball about for the majority of the game was pleasing."
