Colin Calderwood was delighted with the application of his side in twice coming from behind to beat Fulham 4-2 at Woking on Wednesday evening.
Steffen Iversen marked his return from a back injury with the first equaliser and a fine Lee Barnard header made it 2-2 just before the break. In the second period Colin's team dictated proceedings and were rewarded with goals from Anthony Gardner and substitute Mark Yeates.
"Once we got into the pace of the game we were okay and I think the goal before half-time definitely lifted us," reflected Colin, whose team has won four out of their last six games with one draw. "In the second half I thought we were in control of the game a lot more.
"At times we played some very good stuff and looked very exciting. We had runners, got people in the box the majority of time, had enough of the ball, coped and made tackles and moved around the pitch as a team like we should do.
"There was a willingness to work as a team, a willingness to win and that is the thing that really makes me pretty pleased."
However, after the team arrived late at the Surrey venue, Colin felt that the team took a little while to get into the swing of the game.
"I was disappointed in the goals we gave away really. They didn't look spectacular goals, or good goals - I think we contributed to our own mistakes.
"Saying that, to get in at 2-2 I was relieved really. In the first 20 minutes they were more in tune with the game than we were - we'll hopefully put it down to the fact that we arrived late!"
