Report: Spurs 2-1 Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Two goals from Sergei Rebrov secured a full three points for the reserves against Fulham after the visitors has snatched a first half lead.

Goals on 77 and 80 minutes from the pocket dynamo transformed the contest after Colin Calderwood's side had struggled to break down an experienced and well organised Fulham side. It capped a decent few days for Sergei, who supplyed the cross from which Gus Poyet's memorable leveller was scored against Arsenal on Saturday.

Colin sent out his team in a 4-3-1-2 formation, with Rebrov playing just behind twin strikers Ferguson and the returning Iversen.

Beasant made his first appearance in Spurs colours in goal, playing behind, from right to left, Thelwell, Gardner, Bunjevcevic and Thatcher. Davies, Piercy and Leonhardsen were on midfield duty.

Both teams offered plenty of experience, with Lee Clark, Jon Harley and Luis Boa Morte turning out for Fulham. The quality of sides offered much good combat, but not too much in the way of clear cut chances.

Beasant was forced into early action twice in the opening stages, reacting smartly in a one on one with striker Kevin Betsy and later produced a full-stretch save to dney the same player after he was put in by Luis Boa Morte.

Visiting keeper Maik Taylor was next in the thick of it after 21 minutes. Iversen fed Rebrov who in turn squared to Ferguson, whose effort was blocked the Northern Ireland keeper. The rebound fell again to Fergie, but again Taylor blocked before Davies blasted over the crossbar.

Ferguson was a constant threat to the Fulham rearguard with his pace and Iversen looked comfortable enough after a two month absence.

Spurs fell behind after 41 minutes, Paul Trollope entered into a block challenge with Bunjevcevic and the ball flew goalwards out of the collision over the head of a stranded Beasant.

Spurs began the second period in a positive manner, Rebrov, appearing to drift out wide on the right, was desperately trying to prize an opening with several teasing crosses - one just evading the on rushing Leo.

Playing with more attacking intent offered Fulham chances on the break and Betsy looked a threat going forward.

Iversen was replaced on the hour by Yannick Kamanan, with Rebrov adopting a more central role.

As the game approached the final 20 minutes it was Fulham who appeared to have an extra spring in their stride and Boa Morte carried the threat. Thankfully, most were repelled by the admirably cool Gardner, looking better every week since his return from injury.

The boys continued to probe, but the final ball just didn't quite come off or Taylor was equal to the efforts, saving well from Thelwell and Kamanan.

He did misjudge another effort from the Frenchman, leaving his low shot in anticipation of it going wide. Instead the attempt clattered the post.

A tactical switch saw Leo and Simon Davies swap positions, with Simon taking on a central role in a bid to bring him more into the game, while Leo moved to the right. Straight after the change Simojn fed Piercy who flashed a low effort just wide of Taylor's right hand post.

The leveller finally came on 77 minutes as Rebrov was fed inside the box, drifted slightly wide and clipped the ball over the advancing Taylor from the right. Spurs were now the much livlier outfit and fully deserved to score.

Three minutes later it was that man Rebrov again. Piercy whipped in a corner from the left into the near post and Sergei dipped and rocketed in a bullet header giving Taylor no chance at all
