Report : Palace 3-1 Spurs
U18 Academy South
Coach Pat Holland admitted this was a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show having dumped Palace out of the FA Youth Cup two days earlier.
Indeed, the lads were 3-0 inside 30 minutes but to their credit, restored some pride in the second half to go down fighting.
Pat took up the story: "We changed tactics, the shape of the side for this game and it didn't go as well as we hoped.
"After 30 minutes we were 3-0 down and perhaps they wanted it a little more than us, understandable really after we'd knocked them out of the FA Youth Cup. They were really up for it.
"We had to make changes at half time, brought two senior boys on and from there we controlled it more without really overpowering them.
"We got our goal though, an excellent goal from Mark Yeates, great ball from Ronnie Henry and Mark's lobbed it over the keeper and slid into an empty net.
"Generally though, it was a case of after the Lord Mayor's show."
