Remembrance at the Lane
02 November 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Tonight we are delighted to welcome current serving members of our Armed Forces to White Hart Lane as we mark our support for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and the period of Remembrance.
Serving personnel from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force who are all members of our Official Supporters Clubs, Armed Forces Spurs and RAF Spurs, will be in attendance, along with members of the Rifles Regiment.
A Trumpeter from Central Band of the Royal Air Force will be playing the Last Post at the Tottenham Hotspur Poppy Wall on Bill Nicholson Way for fans to observe on their way into the stadium at 7.30pm tonight.
The Poppy Wall has been re-erected at the Lane following a great response when first introduced 12 months ago and will be available for supporters to pin a poppy to and pay their respects to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Poppy sellers from the Royal British Legion will be in operation around the stadium tonight, as well as a limited edition Spurs Poppy Pin Badge available for a minimum donation of £3 with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. We encourage fans to give generously to this worthy cause.
We take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Remembrance Sunday (Sunday November 8) when both teams will observe a minute’s silence prior to kick off.
We should like to remind travelling fans to please be respectful and remain quiet if entering the stadium or on the concourse close to the 4pm kick off.
During this game, the team will wear special edition Poppy Shirts that will be signed by the players and auctioned off to raise money for the Royal British Legion. We shall provide further details on the shirt auction in due course.
