Relief for Deano
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Dean Richards is targeting a swift return after receiving the news he wanted to hear about his troublesome right knee.
Scans have revealed that the cause of recent discomfort was bruising rather than anything more serious.
Those results came as a relief to the big defender who has encountered problems with that knee before - including a dreaded cruciate ligament injury back in his time at Wolves.
The big defender completed his first light training session at Spurs Lodge on Monday.
"It's improved a lot," he reported. "Not only that, but scans have showed there is no major problem in the knee, just a bit of bone bruising, so I must have just jarred it and that's what has caused the pain.
"That has set my mind at rest straight away because I've got a bit of history with my right knee so when I get a knock it's always there in the back of my mind.
"I've had a cruciate knee injury, reconstruction and cartilage problems all in my time at Wolves.
"I've had serious injuries there before but even though it's a little painful I know it's something I should be able to play through."
Dean missed our Premiership games against Charlton and Newcastle and felt the problem again in the 1-0 reverse at Southampton on New Year's Day. He's been out since.
He added: "I jarred it about a month ago, just came down on it in training and it's been sore since.
"I came on against Southampton in the first game and that's why I couldn't play in the FA Cup game.
"If it was going to restrict me that much I wouldn't be able to play but it feels better and I've still got a few days until the next game so hopefully I'll have some sort of chance for Saturday."
