Redskins in Tottenham!
14 July 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Chris Baker and DeAngelo Hall, two stars of the Washington Redskins, could be seen bringing their version of football to the youth of Tottenham this week - in the shadow of the NFL’s future home.
As construction on our new stadium progressed overlooking Northumberland Park School, the pair were putting students through their paces with the oval ball.
Once complete, the new stadium will host a minimum of two regular season NFL matches per season for a period of 10 years.
The stadium will feature a retractable grass field with an artificial surface underneath that will be used for NFL games, as part of the Club’s plans to create a major sports, leisure and entertainment venue.
Excitement is building amongst Tottenham’s young people already as they took part in gridiron drills alongside defensive lineman Baker and safety Hall.
Ledley King also got involved in the session, giving the Redskins a chance to try out their soccer skills with some of the school’s budding young footballers.

The legendary former captain said: “Bringing NFL to Tottenham once the new stadium is built will be great for the area, especially for young people if today is anything to go by.
“Kids love trying new sports and having the Redskins at their school today captured the imagination of the Northumberland Park students.
“I had the chance to speak to Chris and DeAngelo and they are looking forward to playing in London at Wembley later this year, and I let them know that although the building work is still on going, the new venue here in Tottenham will be a fantastic future home for their game.”
