Real Madrid boss Zidane praises 'important' Hugo Lloris
17 October 2017|Tottenham Hotspur
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has paid tribute to fellow countryman Hugo Lloris ahead of tonight's (Tuesday 17 October) Champions League battle at the Bernabeu.
Midfield legend Zidane won over 100 caps for France during an illustrious career, which included five years representing Real prior to his retirement in 2006.
In charge of the Spanish giants since 2016, the 45-year-old spoke of his admiration for current France captain and our talented goalkeeper Hugo as he plots a way past him in our Group H, matchday three meeting.
"He (Hugo) will do everything for Spurs so they win," said the former Juventus star.
"He's improved a lot there and will be important for them but they’re a team, not just one player. We'll do all we can to score past him. They're a very complete side who improve year on year and their coach has a lot to do with this."
On the challenge of facing us in general, Zidane continued: “We give all sides maximum respect and we treat them as big tests. We have two games against Spurs now. The first 'final' is (tonight) – a 'final of the group' between two sides on the same points.
"We want to produce a performance and I think it will be a good game for everyone who likes football – they'll see a good game. Hopefully we'll get the three points."
